Duke Athletics Climate and Sustainability Coordinator
Imani Dorsey (Duke ’18) serves as the Athletics Climate and Sustainability Coordinator. Imani provides dedicated leadership and focused operational support to implement the University Climate Commitment specifically within Duke Athletics.
Imani leads the Duke Athletics Climate Team (ACT), focusing on policy integration, sustainable operations, and student engagement across all athletic programs and facilities. Her work includes translating her academic expertise in Environmental Science and Policy into tangible sustainability initiatives, planning and executing environmentally responsible athletic events, and supporting the strategic alignment of Athletics with the broader Office of Climate and Sustainability (OCS) mission.
An essential part of her role is to cultivate key relationships and partnerships—leveraging the powerful platform of collegiate sport to accelerate Duke’s climate goals and inspire collective action among students, staff, and alumni.
Imani holds a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University, where she was also an All-American for the Women’s Soccer team. She joined OCS following an eight-season professional career in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Her extensive experience in systemic advocacy—including her instrumental role in negotiating the NWSLPA’s groundbreaking first-ever CBA and serving as a Founding Board Member of the Black Women's Player Collective (BWPC)—provides a strong foundation for driving policy implementation and collective change within Duke Athletics.
