Gilbert T. Rowe Distinguished Professor of Theology & Director of Research, Office of Climate and Sustainability

Norman Wirzba is Director of Research in the Office of Climate and Sustainability and the Gilbert T. Rowe Distinguished Professor of Theology at Duke. In his OCS role, he works with faculty and researchers across Duke University and the School of Medicine to develop lines of research that focus on understanding and addressing climate change. He is especially focused on encouraging the formation of multi-disciplinary teams of researchers that engage the complexity of climate change realities. Raised on a farm in southern Alberta, Wirzba went on to study history, theology, and philosophy at the University of Lethbridge, Yale University, and Loyola University of Chicago.
