Director of Marketing and Communications for Climate and Sustainability
Kirsten Khire is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Climate and Sustainability at Duke University. She previously led communications for the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy from 2019-2024. Before Duke, she served in communications leadership roles at Michigan State University, UNC Charlotte and global research for development organization Bioversity International. Before working in higher education communications, she was a journalist. Khire earned her master’s degree in digital communication from UNC Chapel Hill and her bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR), and she is passionate about all aspects of climate and sustainability.
