Dr. Toddi Steelman

Vice President and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability

Dr. Toddi Steelman is the Vice President and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability at Duke University, leading the Duke Climate Commitment to advance climate solutions through education, research, operations, and public service. A recognized wildland fire expert and AAAS Fellow, she has advised organizations worldwide and served as President of the International Association of Wildland Fire. Previously, she was the Stanback Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment (2018–2023). Steelman has authored four books and numerous publications in leading academic journals and media outlets.
