Climate Leaders in Residence Fellowship
The Climate Leaders in Residence (CLIR) Fellowship program began in 2024 with the goal to bring top thought leaders to Duke University to share insights and expertise, sparking discussion and action to advance climate solutions. Led by the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability from 2024 to 2026 and by the Office of Climate and Sustainability starting in academic year 2026-2027, this program has brought five fellows from a variety of industries. Climate and Sustainability Summits
The Office of Climate and Sustainability in collaboration with Duke University Marketing and Communications hosts an annual climate and sustainability summit. Starting in May 2025, Duke convenes over 100 leaders, researchers, and advocates to explore bold climate solutions, learn about climate and sustainability innovations from thought leaders across the country, and engage with Duke’s campus through immersive experiences. From Billions to Trillions Summit
The From Billions to Trillions summit is Duke University’s flagship gathering on mobilizing private capital for global climate and energy solutions. Led by the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability, the annual summit convenes nearly 500 business leaders, government officials, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and philanthropies, scholars, and students.
