Beyond the boundaries of Duke University’s campus, experts across Duke gather at keystone climate and sustainability convenings across the globe. For the Office of Climate and Sustainability, the focus has been on three Climate Week Convenings as outlined below.

Climate Week NYC

Starting in 2009, Climate Week NYC is a high-impact and highly collaborative opportunity for thought leaders and experts in climate and sustainability to gather and discuss solutions to the climate crisis. Bringing together over 100,000 people across 1,000+ events yields opportunities to connect on topics such as climate finance and policy, energy decarbonization, climate resilience and adaptation, and so much more.

Duke University faculty, staff, students, and alumni have a strong presence during this week and below are some highlights from recent years.

If you or another Duke faculty, staff member, or student are planning on attending Climate Week NYC in September 2026, please contact Jason Elliott at jason.elliott@duke.edu.

London Climate Action Week

Starting in 2019, London Climate Action Week provides a space for climate and sustainability professionals from across the globe to gather and discuss and collaborate on opportunities for global climate action.

DC Climate Week

Starting in 2025, DC Climate Week hosts a week of events, tours, and gatherings and brings together policymakers, investors, and climate and sustainability advocates.

Victoria Salinas, Climate Leader in Residence fellow, led a delegation of Duke faculty to attend DC Climate Week for the first time in 2026. Learn more about their events during D.C. Climate Week here
