Description:
Duke University Hospital is one of the nation’s leading care and research centers. Prioritizing patient experience with innovative and comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic facilities, Duke Hospital (DH) provides a regional emergency/trauma center, over 51 operating rooms, an endo-surgery center, and extensive diagnostic and interventional radiology areas. With nearly 1,000 patient beds, the hospital functions like a self-sufficient city focused on saving lives.
This project focused on answering the following questions:
- How have Duke Hospital's peers incorporated sustainability?
- What can Duke learn from peer experiences to begin implementing sustainability while maintaining the current level of patient care?
