Apply to Fund Your Sustainability Project Idea
Applications to fund campus sustainability projects are currently being accepted. Current Duke students, faculty members, student groups, and academic departments with a sustainability-related project idea are eligible for funding through Students Taking an Active Role In Sustainability (STARS).
STARS is an organization comprised of graduate and undergraduate students students, which will oversee the allocation of $25,000 during the 2011-2012 academic year to support sustainability initiatives at Duke. While STARS prefers visible on-campus projects, projects of all types are encouraged and eligible for funding. Some examples of project areas include alternative transportation, office or dormitory greening, environmental advocacy and education, and attending environmental conferences.
If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Julia Hazel at jeh40@duke.edu. The application can be found at this link: http://dukegroups.duke.edu/stars/files/2010/04/Application.pdf or e-mail sustainability@duke.edu for a Word Document version.
