Compost Surplus DaysWHEN: April 11, 8AM-12PM Duke collects materials from the campus grounds and composts on site in the Duke Forest. During Earth Month, surplus from this site will be shared with the community. Whether you have a car or truck, come out and get some compost! For those of you bringing your truck there will be a loader on site. [contact event coordinator] |
GarbologyWHEN: TBD Garbologies are an interactive way to highlight what types of materials are recyclable on our campus and show how well a specific building is recycling. This year we'll be removing a days worth of trash from the outdoor trash cans on West Campus. We'll sort this material and compare waste from the academic and residential sides of the quad. All the sorted material will be weighed to determine how much of the trash could have been recycled. |

Sustainable Duke Pledge Drive
We're hitting the graduate and professional schools during Earth Month to find anyone who hasn't signed the Sustainable Duke Pledge. Anyone who hasn't already received a bag can bring their Duke Unique ID to one of our four events this week to pick up their bag right there! We'll also be kicking off the Smart Commute Challenge at Duke, a great way to start your pledge. |
