Faculty Workshop

Leadership for Sustainability and Curriculum Workshop

Duke’s Leadership for Sustainability and Curriculum faculty development workshop began in 2010 and offered 9 Duke faculty an intensive two days of presentations, exercises, discussions, planning and reflection on new teaching methods, interdisciplinary connections, opportunities for students’ civic engagement, and their own roles as campus leaders. Read more about the 2010 workshop.

A second Sustainability and Curriculum Workshop will be held in May 2011 to further develop a learning community for sustainability at Duke, Ten faculty participants will receive a $500 stipend through support from the Center for Instructional Technology and will collaborate on developing and revising courses to include concepts of sustainability.  Faculty will meet once per month during the Fall term as they implement and assess their sustainable course activities. While the 2010 workshop included the participation of faculty members from surrounding North Carolina universities, the 2011 workshop will be exclusively offered for Duke University faculty.
